Postcards
Once in a while I receive embroidered cards. I love them.
They have an emotional surplus value, I think.

In my "archives" I found some cards that where embroidered on paper.
I don't know whether the sender is the maker.

Towels
A towel decorated with an embroidered aida band is highly appreciated as a present by everyone I know (even men!).

These towels are made by Joke. (No, it is not a joke: her full name is Johanna, and "ke" makes the short (male) name Jo into a female version. You pronounce it as Yowkuh.)
One for our mother-in-law Lotte and one for me.

I show you the pieces of work below, because I think they are worth showing.
I didn't make them and it was not the maker that gave them to me.
I got them third or fourth hand or inherited them.

They bought it in France, probably at an "antique" market. My mother loved to buy curios.

There was a whole lot of needlework going on in the convent (still is?)!
Every time my parents went to visit her, my mum got a piece of their devout work. This little strawberry tablecloth is such a souvenir.
