Not for Mum
lavendel
I made a lot of lavender sachets for my Mum. You can see them in the second part of this page. In this part you will see the ones I have made for other persons. A lavender sachet is a present you can make in no-time. Besides you can make it perfect suitable to the reciever.

The chart I used came from the book "Vrolijke alfabetten in kruissteek" (In English published as "Cross Stitch Alphabets" by David & Charles, Brunel House, Newton Abbot, Devon, TQ12 4 PU) By chance lavender like Lilian starts with an L.
I gave this sachet a lilac lining.

This sachet I designed for her.

In the mean time I worked it into a tote.

For Mum
My Mum was always enjoyed when I gave her a lavender sachet.
The following sachets are all made for her.
The lavender was bought in the health food shop "De Biomarkt" in Heerlen. Unfortunately the shop doesn't exist aymore.

Click to enlarge this picture... Assisi-embroidery is the art of omitting. This rose is a good example. The sides are connected by a blanket stitch. I used only one color (red). Simple can be so beautifull.

Click to enlarge this picture... I made a rose sachet instead of a lavender sachet of this design. I filled it with fresh rose leaves and tears, and gave it to my Mum on her last trip. I didn't make a photo of it and it is obvious I can not make one ever more.
