Wish-list Just like many other stitchers I have a long list of projects I want to do some time. I am afraid my life is to short to do them all. On this page I will show you some of these wishes. "Welcome" in a lot of languages, that was my idea a few years ago. The collection is growing slowly. This picture shows that I am not the only one with this idea. The red cat is a famous character from the Dutch comic strip "Jan, Jans and the kids" by Jan Kruis. Click to see the complete picture! I have won this kit playing a telephone game. I will stitch this with a lot of pleasure. This was once one of the freebies of designer Teresa Wentzler. It is a complicated chart because of the different layers and half stitches. But it is a lovely picture, don't you think? "Torchons" is French for dishtowel. I specially purchased the book "Petits messages au point de croix" by Anne Van Damme for this chart. In the book it is shown in red colours as well as in blue. I prefer the blues. These pictures are from the book "Subversive cross stitch" by Julie Jackson. "Subversive" means "attempting to undermine authority, established ideas etc.". I have purchased this book. (€ 15,99 at Bol.com) The sweet designs with the rude language make me rather burst out laughing. "Fuck cancer" is such a strong phrase! Simple designs with a huge impact. This is a monochrome (one colour) design with typical French hearts. I don't know why the French draw their hearts so oblique. But it is beautifull! Once in a while I see this kind of designs: red cross stitches combined with shirt buttons. Mainly French sites have them. This is the front of a book about making carton boxes. "Cartonnage brodé au fil des boiles" by Sophie Delaborde and Silvie Castellano. It is for € 21,95 on sale at bookshop van de Moosdijk I will not make this mothers tree as it is on this picture. But it inspires me though! Maybe I will make my own mothers tree with a more simple tree. This symmetrical alphabet is drawn by Reutersvård. Look good. It is a very ingenious design. I want to transform it into a cross stitch chart. Via Marktplaats (a kind of Dutch E-bay) I purchased an American magazine featuring this project. It is a sampler showing all kinds of tools. Piet and I have had a DIY-shop once, so this is very appealing to me. I want to make a selection to make it less crowded. This plate is being used for a very long time now in our family. I know the verse by heart. A challange to transform it into a chart! Ha pap, zegt Fik, --- "Hey porridge, says Fik Poes roept: eerst ik! --- Cat yells: me first! It is a powerfull picture for a small project like a postcard.
